A North Alabama manufacturer is expanding its operations and creating new jobs, according to online reports.
$21 Million Expansion Planned
Phos Window announced a $21 million expansion of its Fort Payne production facility. The project will more than triple the size of the current plant near Interstate-59.
Once complete, the facility will cover nearly 140,000 square feet and significantly increase the company’s production capacity. Construction is expected to start soon, with hiring to follow in phases as the facility comes online.
Job Growth for the Region
The expansion is projected to add about 100 new jobs, bringing the total workforce at the facility to roughly 200 employees. Local leaders say the project highlights the value of DeKalb County’s skilled labor pool and the region’s strategic location near the Tennessee-Georgia-Alabama border.
Alabama Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair praised the move, noting it demonstrates the competitive advantages of the state’s manufacturing workforce.
Strengthening Alabama Manufacturing
Officials say the project reflects both the innovation within the construction products sector and the technical expertise of Alabama workers. The expansion also underscores the region’s growing role in advanced manufacturing.
With the new facility and increased staffing, Phos Window aims to boost production while supporting the local economy and creating high-quality jobs for the community.
