Huntsville will once again celebrate Make Music Day 2026, bringing free music and community performances across the city on June 21, according to online reports.
Citywide celebration returns for Make Music Day 2026
The Huntsville Music Office and Huntsville Hospital are partnering to host Make Music Day Huntsville on Sunday, June 21. The event invites people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels to take part.
In addition, the celebration is part of a global initiative held in more than 1,000 cities across 120 countries. All activities are free and open to the public.
Because the event falls on a Sunday this year, organizers expect higher participation. As a result, they hope to see more performances scheduled across the community.
New registration system aims to boost participation
This year, organizers introduced a simplified registration process for performers and venues. The updated system makes it easier for individuals, businesses, and community groups to sign up.
Furthermore, participants must register their performances by June 19 to be included in the official schedule. Officials say the streamlined process helps increase flexibility and encourages more local involvement.
Organizers also encourage musicians, artists, and neighborhoods to participate. They hope to fill the city with live, free performances throughout the day.
Music therapy programs and Make Music Week events
Huntsville Hospital is also using the celebration to highlight its Music Therapy Program. The program shows how music can reduce stress, ease anxiety, and support patient healing.
In addition, the hospital will host “Make Music Week” events from June 15 to June 19. These performances will take place across multiple hospital campuses, including Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, and Madison Hospital.
Furthermore, Huntsville Hospital’s Arts in Medicine Program has partnered with the Cigar Box Guitar Store at Lowe Mill for an art exhibit and fundraiser. Although the fundraiser has ended, a virtual gallery remains available online through the Arts in Medicine webpage.
