Huntsville International Airport is once again competing for the title of Best Small Airport in the United States through the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
HSV makes the 2026 shortlist
Huntsville International Airport is one of 20 airports nominated for this year’s award. The contest recognizes smaller airports for their commercial flight options, accessibility and traveler amenities.
The nomination adds to HSV’s growing record in national airport rankings. The airport has previously been named the country’s Best Small Airport three times, including a USA Today win in 2020 and Newsweek Readers’ Choice wins in 2024 and 2025.
HSV also placed among USA Today’s 10Best Small Airports in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Airport upgrades continue
The recognition comes as Huntsville International Airport continues work on improvements designed to enhance the passenger experience.
Recent projects have included terminal upgrades along with new dining options for travelers. The ongoing improvements are part of broader efforts to make the airport more convenient for the growing Huntsville region.
How to vote for Huntsville
Voting for the 2026 contest began Sept. 7 and will remain open through Oct. 5 at 10:59 a.m. CST. Supporters can vote for HSV once each day during the contest.
The winning airports will be announced Oct. 14. With HSV returning to the competition, Huntsville travelers and residents have another opportunity to put the local airport in the national spotlight.
