Huntsville International Airport recorded its busiest month on record in May, continuing strong passenger growth trends, according to online reports.
Huntsville Airport Sets All-Time Monthly Record
Huntsville International Airport served 173,748 passengers in May, making it the highest monthly total in the airport’s history. Of that total, more than 87,000 passengers departed, while over 86,000 arrived.
In addition, the strong performance pushed year-to-date passenger traffic 10.7% higher compared to the same period in 2025.
Continued Growth Across Multiple Months
The airport has seen steady growth over the past year, with several months showing year-over-year increases. May’s surge follows strong performance in March and April, which also posted double-digit gains.
As a result, Huntsville International Airport continues to trend toward another record-breaking year for overall passenger traffic.
Strong Demand Driving Air Travel in Huntsville
Airport officials say the rising numbers reflect continued demand for both business and leisure travel in the region. Meanwhile, Huntsville has benefited from expanding nonstop flight options and growing regional population and industry.
The airport has broken annual traffic records in recent years, and current trends suggest that growth is likely to continue through the remainder of 2026.
