Huntsville’s skateboarding community will have a chance to watch top athletes and sharpen their skills at the 2026 Snake Run & Ride Challenge.
Snake Run & Ride Challenge returns Oct. 4
Huntsville Parks & Recreation and The Skatepark Project will host the free event Sunday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Get-A-Way Skatepark in John Hunt Park.
According to online reports, the event will welcome skateboarders of all skill levels, from amateurs to professional riders from across the country.
Registration and warmups begin at 10 a.m. The main Pro Snake Run & Ride Challenge will start at noon, with cash prizes and other awards up for grabs.
Free skate clinic and 100-board giveaway
Before the main competition, kids and adults can join a free, all-levels skate clinic at 11 a.m.
Professional and Olympic skateboarders will lead the session. The lineup includes Bucky Lasek, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins Pastrana, Jordyn Barratt, Lady Meek, Reef Orlando and Alec Beck.
The event will also give away 100 skateboards and gear. Free boards, helmets and pads will be available while supplies last.
A showcase of top skateboarding talent
The 2026 event marks the third annual Snake Run & Ride Challenge at Get-A-Way Skatepark.
The competition will highlight professional and Olympic-level talent while giving local skaters a chance to learn from experienced athletes.
With free admission, a skills clinic and giveaways, the event offers a full day of skateboarding for both newcomers and longtime enthusiasts.
