Southern Kitchen & Home opens new Alabama-made retail store

A growing Huntsville business focused on Southern-made products has officially opened a larger storefront at Stovehouse, according to online reports.

Southern Kitchen & Home Expands at Stovehouse

Southern Kitchen & Home recently opened its new location inside Stovehouse.

The woman-owned shop moved into the former Brewers Co-Op space as part of its continued growth in Huntsville. In addition, the larger storefront allows the business to expand both retail offerings and community programs.

The store specializes in Southern-inspired kitchen items, home décor, specialty foods, and gifts sourced from small businesses across the South.

Focus on Southern Makers and Small Businesses

Store leaders say every product is carefully selected from Southern makers, bakers, and farmers. As a result, shoppers can find locally inspired pantry goods, handcrafted gifts, and home products in one location.

The business also plans to expand its refill station for pantry staples and natural cleaning products. Meanwhile, the new space will serve as a pickup location for the Huntsville Food and Farm Hub.

According to online information, the store now supports more than 50 small businesses from across the South. Therefore, the expansion creates additional visibility for regional entrepreneurs and makers.

New Community Events and Programs Planned

The larger location will also host community-focused gatherings and workshops. For example, the SK&H Social Club plans monthly events centered on networking, learning, and personal growth.

In addition, the commercial kitchen space will support local bakers and caterers looking to grow their businesses. Leaders say the goal is to create a welcoming gathering place while continuing to promote Southern traditions and hospitality.

Founder Tonya Ross said the business grew from a long-time vision inspired by her experiences living around the country as an Army wife and working alongside small business owners in Huntsville.
