Renaud secures another term on school board

The Huntsville City Council has approved the reelection of a current school board member as the city prepares for the upcoming municipal election.

According to online reports, Ryan Renaud will continue representing District 4 on the Huntsville City School Board after being the only candidate to qualify for the race.

Ryan Renaud Approved for Another School Board Term

The Huntsville City Council voted to approve Renaud’s reelection during its recent meeting. Under state law, councils may approve the election of candidates who are running unopposed before the municipal election.

Renaud represents District 4, which covers the central portion of Huntsville. According to online reports, he was appointed to the school board in 2021 and was elected to the seat in 2022.

His next four-year term is scheduled to begin Nov. 2.

School Board Member Highlights Progress in Huntsville Schools

Renaud said he looks forward to continuing work with Huntsville City Schools, including efforts focused on academic opportunities, facility improvements, and partnerships that support students and families.

According to online reports, Renaud emphasized the importance of maintaining experienced leadership as the district continues working on long-term goals and modernization efforts.

He also pointed to collaboration between Huntsville City Schools, city leaders, families, and community partners as an important part of the district’s future.

Other Huntsville Election Races Continue

While Renaud’s school board race has been decided, several other city and school board positions remain on the ballot.

According to online reports, candidates are competing for seats including City Council District 2, District 3, and District 4, along with additional Huntsville City School Board races.

Important election dates include voter registration deadlines, absentee ballot deadlines, and the Aug. 25 municipal election. A runoff election, if needed, is scheduled for Sept. 22.

Residents can follow official election updates as candidates continue campaigning ahead of the upcoming vote.
