The Alabama Music Hall of Fame will soon honor Huntsville blues legend Microwave Dave Gallaher with a new exhibit celebrating his life and musical legacy.
According to reports, exhibit opens on Saturday, July 18, at noon at the museum in Tuscumbia.
New Exhibit Celebrates Microwave Dave’s Legacy
The Alabama Music Hall of Fame will unveil the exhibit to recognize Gallaher’s lasting contributions to Alabama’s music scene. In addition to his career as a performer, he inspired countless musicians through his dedication to music education.
The exhibit allows visitors to learn more about his career and the impact he made across North Alabama.
Remembering a Huntsville Music Icon
Known professionally as Microwave Dave, Gallaher spent decades performing blues music throughout the Tennessee Valley and beyond. Although he was born in Chicago, he became one of Huntsville’s most recognizable and respected musicians.
Throughout his career, he earned praise for both his performances and his commitment to mentoring young artists and supporting music education programs.
Honoring His Lasting Impact
Gallaher passed away in February at the age of 80. However, his influence continues to shape Huntsville’s music community.
The new exhibit highlights his accomplishments and preserves his story for future generations. As a result, fans and visitors will have a chance to celebrate the life of a musician who left a lasting mark on Alabama’s blues tradition.
