According to Huntsville Parks & Recreation, registration will soon open for the Male Mentorship Program, a community initiative designed to help young men develop confidence, leadership skills, and positive relationships.
Program Helps Young Men Build Life Skills
The Male Mentorship Program will run throughout the 2026-2027 school year and serves boys ages 8-15.
Through group activities, mentorship opportunities, and guest speakers, participants learn important skills while building connections in a supportive environment.
The program focuses on helping young men grow into confident and responsible individuals by providing guidance from positive role models.
Registration Opens July 13
Registration begins at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 13, through the Huntsville Parks & Recreation registration platform.
Space is limited, so families interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to register early. The program fee is $25 per child.
Organizers say the program continues to provide a safe space where participants can learn, connect, and develop skills that support their future success.
Mentors Needed for Upcoming Program
Along with accepting participants, Huntsville Parks & Recreation is also looking for more male mentors to join the program.
Mentors should be dedicated community members who want to encourage and support young people. All potential mentors must complete a background check before participating.
Dorianne Johnson, Superintendent of Recreation for Community Services, said the program helps young people strengthen their confidence, character, and everyday skills through meaningful relationships and experiences.
