Madison is planning a new aquatics center at Dublin Park that will provide a year-round facility for student-athletes, competitions and community members.
A new facility for Dublin Park
The City of Madison is working with Madison City Schools on plans for the new aquatics center. The facility is planned for the site of Soccer Field 5 at the 60-acre Dublin Park.
The park already includes nine soccer fields, a two-court gymnasium, seven tennis courts and other recreational amenities. The new center would add another major facility to the park’s lineup.
Student-athletes and residents will have access
The aquatics center is expected to give Madison student-athletes a dedicated place to train, compete and host swimming events throughout the year.
Community members will also have an opportunity to use the facility. Memberships are expected to be available to Madison residents through the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The project is part of a broader collaboration between the city and school system to expand recreational opportunities and support local student programs.
Construction could take two years
The city plans to hold a listening session with members of the Madison swimming community before officially meeting with an architect. Once the architectural plans are finalized, construction is expected to take about two years.
The new aquatics center is currently projected to open in late 2028. Additional details about the facility, including its final design and amenities, are expected to take shape as planning moves forward.
