City of Huntsville shares July 4 holiday office schedule

According to the City of Huntsville, municipal offices will close on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. Regular operations will resume on Monday, July 6, at 8 a.m.

City Offices to Close for the Holiday

The holiday closure includes most City of Huntsville offices, as well as Animal Services and Municipal Court.

Officials encourage residents to plan ahead if they need city services before the long holiday weekend. City offices will reopen on Monday morning following the Independence Day observance.

Garbage Collection and Transit Updates

Residential garbage collection will continue on its normal schedule despite the holiday. Huntsville Transit will also operate regular service on Friday, July 3.

However, both Animal Services and Huntsville Transit will close on Saturday, July 4, for Independence Day.

Residents should check schedules in advance if they plan to use public transportation during the holiday weekend.

Parks and Public Safety Services

Several Parks & Recreation facilities will remain open during their regular operating hours. These include Get-A-Way Skate Park, Kids’ Space, the Dr. Richard Showers Sr. Splash Pad, Bicentennial Park Splash Pad, and the Everybody Can Play Splash Pad.

Meanwhile, Huntsville Police and Huntsville Fire & Rescue personnel will continue providing essential public safety services throughout the holiday.

City officials wish residents a safe and enjoyable Independence Day weekend while reminding everyone to celebrate responsibly.
