Huntsville recognized hundreds of residents, businesses and organizations for helping keep the city clean, green and welcoming.
376 properties receive recognition
According to online reports, the city recognized 376 properties during the 2026 Beautification Awards ceremony on August 20.
The annual program highlights properties with standout landscaping, cleanliness and overall upkeep. This year’s ceremony also recognized several first-time honorees.
The Huntsville Beautification Board and the City’s Green Team presented the awards alongside Mayor Tommy Battle and members of the City Council.
Special awards honor local standouts
In addition to the 376 honorees, the city presented several special awards.
This year’s recipients include:
Mayor’s Award: Lockheed Martin
Beautification Special Recognition Award: Judy Sullivan, volunteer
District 1: Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church
District 2: McMullen Lane Entrance
District 3: Rosies Mexican Cantina
District 4: Randolph Lower School
District 5: Walden at Providence
These awards highlight properties and individuals that made a notable contribution to Huntsville’s appearance and community character.
A Huntsville tradition since 1975
The city created the Huntsville Beautification Board in 1965. Ten years later, the board launched the Beautification Awards to recognize exceptional landscaping and well-maintained properties.
Today, the program continues to encourage residents and organizations to invest in their surroundings.
The City’s Green Team also works as a Keep America Beautiful affiliate through the Landscape Management Department.
Together, these efforts recognize the people who help make Huntsville a cleaner, greener and more inviting place to live and visit.
