Ding How Chinese Restaurant is preparing to reopen in Huntsville more than two years after closing, bringing one of the city’s longtime dining favorites back to its original home.
Ding How Announces Return to Huntsville
The restaurant recently announced on social media that it will reopen at its original location on Whitesburg Drive. Workers also installed new signage at the restaurant, signaling that preparations are underway.
In its announcement, Ding How thanked loyal customers for their continued support and excitement throughout the closure. The restaurant said it looks forward to welcoming the community back soon.
Although the owners confirmed the reopening, they have not announced an official opening date.
Restaurant Closed After 2024 Fire
The restaurant, previously known as Ding How II, closed following a fire in April 2024.
At the time, the owners expressed hope that the restaurant would eventually reopen. However, they later chose not to renew the lease at the temporary location.
Now, the restaurant is preparing to return to its longtime home on Whitesburg Drive, where it built a loyal following over the years.
A Local Favorite Returns
Ding How has long been known for its extensive Chinese menu and its popular Sunday dim sum service. Many Huntsville residents considered it one of the area’s favorite destinations for authentic Chinese cuisine.
The owners say they plan to bring back the authentic flavors, familiar dishes, and welcoming hospitality that made the restaurant a local favorite.
While customers will need to wait a little longer for an opening day announcement, many longtime fans have already welcomed the news of Ding How’s return. Its reopening marks the comeback of another well-known Huntsville restaurant after an extended absence.
