Huntsville is moving forward with plans to add a new parking lot at the upcoming Ditto Landing Event Center, according to online reports.
City Approves 450-Space Parking Lot
The City of Huntsville recently approved a contract with Rogers Group to construct a 450-space surface parking lot for the new Ditto Landing Event Center. The lot will support visitors attending events and activities at the waterfront venue.
As a result, the project will provide additional parking capacity as the facility prepares to open later this year.
Additional Improvements Planned for the Site
In addition to the parking lot, crews will relocate approximately 450 feet of the existing greenway near the development area. The project also includes new lighting, irrigation systems, and landscaping improvements along Hobbs Island Road.
These upgrades aim to improve both accessibility and the overall appearance of the property as construction continues.
Event Center Nearing Completion
The Madison County Commission is overseeing construction of the new event center at Ditto Landing along the Tennessee River. Once completed, the facility will include space for restaurants as well as indoor and outdoor events.
Meanwhile, officials expect construction to wrap up later this year. The new venue is expected to expand entertainment and event options while bringing additional visitors to the popular riverfront destination.
