Honey’s Backyard Jerk Chicken set to open in Huntsville

Honey’s Backyard Jerk Chicken is officially opening in Huntsville, bringing its signature jerk flavors to the city.

Limited Hours to Start

The new spot at 2809 Governors Drive will open on November 3, 2025, initially operating three days a week while staffing ramps up. Owner LilRessie shared via social media that he’s spent nearly three years preparing to launch the restaurant and is excited to start serving the community.

Honey’s will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Menu

Honey’s Backyard Jerk Chicken serves a variety of jerk-inspired dishes, including daily favorites like the Jerk Chopped Cheese Burger ($5), Jerk Philly Cheesesteak ($15), Jerk Philly Cheese Fries ($10), Glizzy with Chips ($10), and wings with fries, either Jerk Wings (8pc, $20) or Fried Curry Wings (8pc, $15).

Weekly specials feature Backyard Monday jerk chops with cabbage, mac & cheese, cornbread, and a drink ($20–$25), Birria Wednesday tacos ($4.50 each), Walking Nachos ($10), Quesobirria ($12) and Quesobirria Pizza ($24), and Rasta Pasta Friday with chicken, shrimp, or combo options in small ($15–$20) and large ($25–$30) sizes.

Sides like cabbage, rice & peas, plain glizzy, and cornbread ($1.50–$5) complement signature drinks including Backyard Punch, Red Sunrise, Purple Punch, Ocean View, Sea Water, and Tropical Storm ($5 each).

Hiring Plans

For now, the focus will be on a limited menu featuring Honey’s signature jerk chicken, with plans to expand offerings over time. LilRessie also announced that he’ll begin hiring part-time employees in the next two to three months, starting at $10 per hour with potential raises up to $14 as operations stabilize.

Fans have already expressed excitement about the upcoming opening. LilRessie thanked supporters for their encouragement and promised to keep the community updated on hours and menu additions. Honey’s Backyard Jerk Chicken aims to become a go-to destination for Huntsville residents craving bold, flavorful chicken.
