Layton Pohl, New Hope: Pohl had a standout performance in New Hope’s 48-24 victory over Madison County on Friday. Pohl amassed 284 yards and five touchdowns on 19 rushing attempts, adding two receptions for 47 yards and another score.

 

Graham Batey, Randolph: Batey dominated for Randolph in a 35-9 win over Westminster Christian, rushing for 186 yards and four touchdowns, with 47 receiving yards and another score. On defense, he tallied 11 tackles, including two for loss.

 

Maddox Doss, Fyffe: Doss made a significant impact on special teams in Fyffe’s dominant 63-0 win over Asbury in their Class 3A, Region 8 matchup. He returned two punts for touchdowns, one from 51 yards and the other from 41 yards.

 

Johnny Jackson, Bob Jones: Jackson went 13-for-23, throwing for 196 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in Bob Jones’ 50-23 victory over Grissom in their Class 7A, Region 4 clash on Friday.

 

Homely Huntsville Player of the Week Winners

 

Week 1: Trey Greenwell, Decatur (15 tackles, a 60-yard pick-six, and a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown.)

 

Week 2: Noah Gaunt, Randolph: Gaunt went for 153 yards and two touchdowns at receiver in a 32-31 win over Class 4A No. 8 Madison Academy. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

 

Week 3: Jake Jones, Scottsboro: led to a 42-35 win over Boaz, amassing 361 total yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 226 yards on 25 carries with three touchdowns while completing 12 of 15 passes for 135 yards and another touchdown.
