The University of North Alabama (UNA) has once again earned national recognition for its music business program, appearing on Billboard’s list of top music business schools for the second year in a row.

UNA and Auburn University were both included in Billboard’s rankings for 2026 after first appearing on the list in 2025.
Billboard’s selections consider recommendations from music industry professionals, alumni information, the publication’s long-standing coverage of educational programs and details provided directly by the schools.
Entertainment industry program marks 51 years
UNA’s David and John Briggs Family Department of Entertainment Industry is celebrating its 51st year of preparing students for careers in the music business.
The program helps students build industry knowledge, gain practical experience and develop professional connections in a changing music landscape. Its curriculum covers areas such as music publishing, production and songwriting.
Grammy winner credits UNA with career foundation
Among the program’s notable alumni is Grammy-winning musician John Paul White, who has credited his education at UNA with helping launch his career.
White has highlighted both the music business knowledge he gained and the networking opportunities he experienced as important parts of his professional development.
The continued recognition places UNA among the schools Billboard identifies for music business education nationwide.
