A familiar name for generations of toy shoppers is coming back to Huntsville as Toys“R”Us prepares to open a new Express location at Bridge Street Town Centre.
A smaller Toys“R”Us is coming to Bridge Street
The new store will occupy a 5,528-square-foot corner space across from Great American Cookie and near Bridge Street’s large fountain.
The pop-up will feature a selection of toys, crafts, games, puzzles and other activities geared toward children and families. Bridge Street management has not yet announced an official opening date.
A familiar name returns to Huntsville
Toys“R”Us previously operated a full-size store at Bridge Street until 2018, when the retailer closed its stores nationwide.
The brand has since been making a comeback through pop-up locations. Go! Retail Group began expanding the Toys“R”Us concept again with temporary holiday stores in late 2025.
Now, the Express format is bringing the brand back to the same Huntsville shopping destination where local families once visited its larger store.
What shoppers can expect
The Bridge Street location is expected to offer a curated assortment focused on play and family activities. The new addition also gives shoppers another option to browse for toys, games and gifts while visiting the outdoor shopping center.
For families who remember the original Toys“R”Us at Bridge Street, the upcoming Express store will bring a familiar name back to the Rocket City.
