Redstone Arsenal unveils Vincent Bark Park

Redstone Arsenal officially opened Vincent Bark Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating its newest quality-of-life addition for families and their pets.

Ribbon Cutting at Vincent Park

Lt. Gen. Gavin Lawrence, deputy commander of Army Materiel Command, led the ceremony at Vincent Park on a chilly February afternoon. Installation leaders, service members and families gathered as dogs of all sizes eagerly awaited the official opening.

Lawrence thanked the Garrison and Directorate of Public Works teams for completing the project quickly and emphasized the importance of caring for the entire Redstone community, including its four-legged members.

A New Amenity for the Community

Vincent Bark Park is located at 3469 Vincent Drive, across from the ChildWise building, and is free for authorized installation users from sunrise to sunset. Managed by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, the park features two fenced play areas — one for dogs under 25 pounds and another for larger breeds.

The space also includes shade structures, water stations and waste disposal areas to support safe and comfortable visits. Officials say the park is designed to encourage social connection while giving dogs room to exercise off leash.

Supporting Quality of Life on Redstone

Leaders say the park reflects broader efforts at Redstone Arsenal to enhance recreational opportunities for Soldiers, civilians and their families. The opening drew a large crowd of pet owners, along with installation leadership and military police canine teams observing the ceremony.

Once the ribbon was cut, the fenced areas quickly filled with excited dogs, turning the formal event into a lively afternoon of play — a simple moment that leaders say highlights the strong sense of community across Team Redstone.
