Publix has opened its newest Athens store, giving the city a third location for groceries, prepared foods and everyday essentials.
New Publix opens on Mooresville Road
The new supermarket is located at 14210 Mooresville Road in Athens. The store officially opened October 7.
The location expands Publix’s presence in Athens as the grocery chain continues to grow across the region.
More options for local shoppers
Publix offers a full selection of groceries, fresh produce, meat and seafood, bakery items, deli foods and household essentials. Its deli is also known for prepared meals and made-to-order sandwiches.
The company has built its brand around customer service and community involvement while operating as an employee-owned grocery chain.
Athens now has three Publix locations
The new Mooresville Road store becomes the third Publix location serving Athens, giving residents another option for weekly grocery trips and prepared foods.
Publix has operated since 1930 and has grown from its first store into one of the largest employee-owned grocery chains in the United States. The Athens opening adds another location to its growing Alabama footprint.
