New public dog park planned for Huntsville
Fifth Dog Park Coming Near Research Park
The City of Huntsville is preparing to build a new public dog park near Research Park. The upcoming park will be located on Cabela Drive and will provide another space for dogs to run, jump, and play. City leaders say the park will cover about two acres, giving pets plenty of room to explore and exercise.
Design and Development Plans
The city has approved a $16,700 design contract with Mullins, LLC for the project. The design work includes site surveying, fencing, sidewalks, and a small parking lot. These features will help make the park accessible and safe for both pets and their owners.
Construction Timeline
City officials say the new park will follow a similar style to Huntsville’s other dog parks. This approach helps create a consistent experience across the city’s pet-friendly spaces. Construction is expected to begin within about 60 days if the schedule stays on track.
