The City of Huntsville and Downtown Huntsville, Inc. (DHI) have announced the return of Jazz in the Park – Huntsville, set for each Sunday in September.
A New Home for a Beloved Tradition
This year’s concert series comes with a notable change. Due to ongoing construction in Big Spring Park East, the event will move across the street to Big Spring Park West. The new location ensures the show goes on under open skies and continues to bring people together through the power of live jazz.
Mark Russell, Chair of DHI’s Board, praised the festival’s downtown setting. “Hosting Jazz in the Park in downtown Huntsville allows the rhythm of the jazz community to resonate across the city,” he said.
Showcasing Local and National Talent
The lineup will feature a mix of returning fan favorites and new local talent. Performers include nationally recognized names like BK Jackson, Pamela Williams, and Jazmin Ghent, alongside Huntsville’s own Izzy & The Jazz Addicts and Element XI.
Mayor Tommy Battle called the series a cornerstone of Huntsville’s music scene. “Every year, I am amazed at the level of talent on the Jazz in the Park stage,” he said. “Huntsville continues to raise the bar.”
More Than Music: A Cultural Celebration
The festival also supports the City’s broader cultural goals. The Multicultural Affairs Office, now led by Dr. Randy Barbour, continues the legacy of former director Kenny Anderson in organizing the event.
“Jazz is rooted in diversity and expression,” Barbour said. “This series highlights those values in a space that welcomes everyone.”
Jazz in the Park also coincides with Huntsville Music Month, which celebrates the city’s creative identity each September. Music Officer Matt Mandrella said the series enhances Huntsville’s musical reach by spotlighting talent from near and far.
