Returning for its seventh year, Women in Music Week (WIMW) will take over stages across Huntsville September 12–21, spotlighting the creativity of more than 50 women in the music industry.
Expanded lineup doubles last year’s events
The 2025 edition kicks off September 12 at The Electric Belle with the Love Jones WIMW Kickoff Showcase featuring Carvena, Alisha, Canderiah and Zami Mare. Organizers say this year’s program has doubled in size, offering audiences even more opportunities to experience women’s artistry both on stage and behind the scenes.
Collaboration fuels growth
Produced by Artemis Productions in partnership with the Huntsville Music Office, WIMW has grown from a weekend celebration into a weeklong showcase. Executive Producer Alli Johnson said the expansion has amplified the event’s reach while highlighting the impact of female creatives across the city’s music scene.
What to expect during the week
The schedule includes free community events, ticketed concerts at major venues and unique experiences such as lunch lounges, career fairs, themed karaoke and open mic nights. Headliners include Melissa Etheridge & Indigo Girls (September 20, Orion Amphitheater) and Leela James (September 19, Mars Music Hall), alongside dozens of local and regional acts.
