Search Process and Support

The UA System has engaged ZRG, a global talent firm specializing in higher education searches, to assist with the process. Consultants Lori Hemmer and Barry Vines bring extensive experience, including Vines’ prior work with UAH in selecting former president Robert Altenkirch.

Next Steps

Following the listening sessions and review of public feedback, UA System Chancellor Sid J. Trant will recommend a final candidate to the Board of Trustees for approval. Current UAH President Charles L. Karr is set to retire at the conclusion of the spring 2026 term.
