Tom Morello Replaces Jane’s Addiction at Huntsville’s South Star Festival

Legendary guitarist and activist Tom Morello has officially been added to the lineup of the inaugural South Star Music Festival in Huntsville, Alabama, stepping in for Jane’s Addiction.

The iconic band had to cancel their 2024 tour following a publicized onstage altercation between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. Morello, best known for his explosive guitar work with Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, will now bring his high-energy performance to the festival’s Supersonic Stage.

This marks an exciting shift in the South Star Festival’s lineup, which already boasts an impressive roster of artists. Alongside Morello, festival-goers can catch headlining performances from Gwen Stefani, blink-182, Beck, TLC, and more. With a blend of rock, pop, and alternative acts, the festival is shaping up to be a major event in the Southeast.

South Star is produced by C3 Presents, the same team behind events like Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, promising a top-tier experience for attendees. This highly anticipated event is also significant for Huntsville, as it marks the city’s return to large-scale music festivals following the end of the beloved Big Spring Jam in 2011.

Music lovers across the region are eagerly awaiting this fresh new festival, which will light up the Rocket City in a celebration of live music and community.
