Titomic, an Australian company specializing in metal additive manufacturing and cold spray technology, has secured a significant AUD$30 million (approximately USD$20 million) investment. This funding will enable the company to open a new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama, to expand into the U.S. market.

Titomic is seeing increased interest from the U.S. defense industry for its innovative Titomic Kinetic Fusion (TKF) technology. This robotic cold spray process produces metal parts from dissimilar materials, making it ideal for repairing or manufacturing components on demand. A critical application for the U.S. military includes 3D-printed titanium ballistic protection for combat vehicles.
Leadership changes and global expansion
Along with the investment news, Titomic has announced leadership changes. Jim Simpson will take over as CEO on January 1, 2025, succeeding current CEO and Managing Director Herbert Koeck. Simpson, currently serving as interim President of Titomic USA and Deputy CEO of Titomic Limited, brings extensive experience from his roles in aerospace and defense companies such as Boeing and Aerojet Rocketdyne.
