Rocket City listeners say goodbye as “The John Boy and Billy Show” signs off

“The John Boy and Billy Show” will air its final broadcast at the end of 2025, ending nearly 50 years on the air.

The Charlotte-based duo, John Isley and Billy James, have been paired since 1980. Their show is syndicated on 34 stations across 14 states, including Huntsville’s WTAK-FM and Mobile’s WRKH-FM. The program features classic rock and country music, NASCAR news, comedy albums, and segments supporting U.S. military personnel.

Broadcast Details

The show traditionally aired weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m. Eastern Time. According to online reports, it was pulled from its original host station, WRFX “99.7 The Fox,” last year but continued syndication across other stations.
