McAlister’s Deli returns to Huntsville with new location

McAlister’s Deli in Huntsville will officially reopen its doors on Monday, December 8, welcoming customers back to its Perimeter Parkway location.

A Legacy of Fresh Food and Hospitality

Nearly three decades ago, a dentist from Oxford, Mississippi turned an abandoned movie-set diner into the first McAlister’s in 1989.

Since then, the restaurant has grown to over 500 locations in 28 states, maintaining its focus on craveable sandwiches, giant spuds, salads, and its iconic Sweet Tea.

The restaurant prides itself on combining fresh, high-quality ingredients with genuine hospitality, offering a welcoming space for families, friends, and the community.

Menu Highlights and Signature Sweet Tea

McAlister’s is known for handcrafted menu items like the 13-layer McAlister’s Club and customizable Spuds.

The restaurant sources ingredients from local vendors, uses genuine Idaho Russet potatoes, and brews Rainforest Alliance Certified™ black tea sweetened with pure cane sugar.

Their signature 32-ounce Sweet Tea is brewed throughout the day to ensure freshness, served over crystal-clear ice with a lemon wedge and oversized straw. Refills are generously offered to every guest.

Community Engagement and Giving Back

Beyond food, McAlister’s emphasizes community involvement and giving back.

Team members often participate in local initiatives, charity events, and volunteer efforts, supporting schools, churches, nonprofits, and disaster relief efforts. Guests are encouraged to engage with the restaurant to learn how they are making a difference locally.
