IKEA is set to open its first Alabama location in Huntsville by early 2026, and the company has begun hiring.
Store Location and Size
The new 46,000-square-foot store will be located at University Place Shopping Center, 6125 University Place Drive, in the former Conn’s Home Plus building. Unlike IKEA’s full-sized stores, this smaller location is designed for mid-sized cities, offering a curated selection of furniture, home goods, and Swedish treats.
Hiring Opportunities
According to reports, IKEA is seeking full-time retail store associates for the Huntsville location. Duties include stocking merchandise, building furniture as needed, preparing and serving IKEA food items, and assisting customers. Candidates should have at least one year of retail experience, preferably in home furnishings.
Pay ranges from $17.77 to $25.31 per hour, with opportunities for full-time positions and career growth.
Swedish Favorites and Shopping Experience
Shoppers can look forward to IKEA’s iconic products, including ready-to-assemble furniture and home décor, as well as the Swedish food experience featuring fan-favorite meatballs. This Huntsville store aims to deliver the brand’s signature convenience, quality, and fun in a smaller, local-friendly setting.
