Denielia Turner, a 2nd grade teacher at Rolling Hills Elementary School, is up for this prestigious honor, presented by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) in partnership with Toyota.

This award recognizes educators nationwide who prioritize family engagement and use multi-generational approaches to learning.
Meet the Finalists
Turner joins four other finalists, selected for their dedication to fostering strong family-school partnerships and implementing innovative programs:
- Enjoli “CeCe” Craycroft – Student Community Liaison at Binet School in Louisville, Kentucky
- Cassandra Kramer– Adult ESOL, Workforce Readiness, and Digital Literacy Instructor at English Empowerment Center in Falls Church, Virginia
- Adie Simmons – Founder & Executive Director at Washington Family Engagement in Edmonds, Washington
- Megan Singh– Adult Education Leader at Enlace Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Denielia Turner – 2nd Grade Teacher at Rolling Hills Elementary School in Huntsville, Alabama
Winner Announcement and Prizes
The winner will be announced on November 20th during the 2024 Families Learning Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. The winner will receive a $20,000 grant for family engagement efforts, while the runner-up will be awarded $5,000.
Since 1997, NCFL and Toyota have partnered to fund over $700,000 in projects through this award program.
