Construction has begun on three new apartment communities in Huntsville, totaling 580 units and representing the top projects among $196 million in December construction across Madison, Morgan, and Limestone counties, according to an online report.
New multifamily communities under development
The Viola: A 204-unit community at 4321 Research Boulevard, built by Doster Construction Company, will feature a clubhouse, pool, fitness center, playgrounds, and a pet washing station. Seven permits totaling over $38 million were issued for the project.
Inspire Apartments: Located at 2172 Zierdt Rd. S.W., this 237-unit complex is developed by the Dawson Company and built by Corporate Contractors Inc. Two permits totaling nearly $30 million cover construction just south of the new $7.7 million West Huntsville Recreation Center.
Sutton Estates Apartments: At 2119 Winchester Road, this 144-unit development includes six buildings of 24 units each, along with an amenity area. Six permits totaling $25.2 million were issued, with Fyffe Construction as the builder.
Other projects and homebuilding activity
December also saw several high-value single-family homes and commercial projects, including a $4.4 million home on Little Cove Rd., a $1.75 million home on Dan Crutcher Rd., and new commercial builds for Valvoline and Heartland Dental. Lennar Homes led home construction with 32 permits totaling $7.2 million, followed by Cornerstone Communities, Woodland Homes, and Breland Homes.
