Huntsville is set to grow its footprint in Limestone County with a proposed annexation of over 394 acres near I-65 and I-565.
The property, known as Westmoore Landing, is owned by GL McCrary Farms, LLC, and the ordinance for its annexation is slated for publication on Jan. 29. While development plans remain undisclosed, this move follows recent annexations of 695 acres in August 2023 and over 1,200 acres in December 2022.

Limestone County annexations have fostered industrial and residential growth, including major developments like Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, Amazon, Polaris, and the Greenbrier Preserve with plans for over 1,100 homes.
Infrastructure improvements in Huntsville’s western corridor, including roads and utilities, have supported this expansion, enabling newly annexed areas to access city services seamlessly.
Additional Annexation Plans for Huntsville
Huntsville will also consider annexing six acres near US 72 and Promenade Point Parkway, further bolstering its strategic growth. Both annexation ordinances are set for discussion on Jan. 29.
