Blast Music, the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library’s streaming platform for local music, has added 50 new albums from North Alabama artists. This marks the sixth expansion of the platform since its launch in August 2021, now featuring 209 artists and 230 albums. The new additions include a mix of returning favorites and fresh talent.

Supporting Local Artists
Blast Music supports its artists by allowing them to retain all rights to their music while receiving a $300 honorarium, funded by the Marguerite Cartwright Hawthorne Endowment and the Huntsville Music Office.
Highlights from Blast Music in 2024
- Featured in SPIN magazine’s February issue.
- Nine Blast artists showcased in Hear To Be Seen, a performance and art exhibit at The Orion Amphitheater.
- Blast artist Kim Tibbs reached No. 1 on the U.K. Soul Chart in October.
- Blast musicians Kelly Abraham Joyner, Keyton, LUNA KOI, and The Wanda Band joined Huntsville Music Office’s Music Ambassador Program, promoting the city’s music scene nationwide.
