A Huntsville startup, Intrinsic Methods, plans to plant billions of trees while helping a local developer achieve a net-zero carbon emissions goal. In an online report, they revealed that their partnership will support a new facility opening this summer.
Intrinsic Methods secures a spot in Project Test Flight
Intrinsic Methods earned the sole spot in the inaugural Project Test Flight program by business accelerator gener8tor. This program allows the startup to gain up to six months of hands-on experience at MidCity District, a mixed-use development in Huntsville.
RCP Companies, the developer of MidCity District, will launch Wellory Living this summer as a net-zero carbon emissions residential facility. To help meet this goal, Intrinsic Methods will implement its advanced carbon-removal platform.
Driving innovation through collaboration
Gener8tor created Project Test Flight to foster innovation and provide startups with real-world testing environments. With support from RCP Companies and The Apollo Coalition, the program connects entrepreneurs to valuable resources. Gener8tor explained, “This initiative empowers startup founders to implement pilot projects that benefit MidCity while advancing their businesses.”
With backing from Ripple, Intrinsic Methods plans to plant nearly 100 million trees to generate carbon removal credits. This initiative will remove 20 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Their faster-growing trees help organizations meet environmental sustainability goals.
Addressing real-world challenges for startups
Sierra Pena, a director at gener8tor, highlighted the program’s importance. She explained, “Entrepreneurs often struggle to find real-life testing grounds for their products. This program provides that space and encourages innovation in Huntsville.”
