Macarri Johnson, West Morgan: Johnson scored three touchdowns, leading West Morgan to a dominant 45-0 victory over Fayette County in Friday’s first round of the Class 4A playoffs.

 

Charleston Owens, Madison Academy: Owens led Madison Academy with three touchdown passes in their 28-7 win over Hokes Bluff in the Class 4A playoffs, connecting with Kahleel Green, AJ Rice, and Josh Williams for the scores.

 

Sam Garrison, Susan Moore: Garrison powered the Bulldogs with 241 rushing yards on 39 carries, scoring all five touchdowns to secure Susan Moore’s 34-27 victory over Class 2A No. 8 Decatur Heritage on the road.

 

Ryder Gipson, Fyffe: Gipson powered Fyffe to a 66-30 win over Ohatchee in the Class 3A playoffs, rushing for 253 yards and four touchdowns, with scoring runs of 53, 4, 8, and 2 yards in the first-round victory.

 

Homely Huntsville Player of the Week Winners

 

Week 1: Trey Greenwell, Decatur (15 tackles, a 60-yard pick-six, and a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown.)

 

Week 2: Noah Gaunt, Randolph: Gaunt went for 153 yards and two touchdowns at receiver in a 32-31 win over Class 4A No. 8 Madison Academy. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

 

Week 3: Jake Jones, Scottsboro: led to a 42-35 win over Boaz, amassing 361 total yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 226 yards on 25 carries with three touchdowns while completing 12 of 15 passes for 135 yards and another touchdown.

 

Week 4: Layton Pohl, New Hope: Pohl stood out in New Hope’s 48-24 victory over Madison County on Friday. Pohl amassed 284 yards and five touchdowns on 19 rushing attempts, adding two receptions for 47 yards and another score.

 

Week 5: Julyon Jordan, Guntersville: South Alabama commit racked up 90 yards on 12 carries, scoring both of Guntersville’s touchdowns in their 17-15 victory over Arab.

 

Week 6: Tasean Love, Hatton: Love amassed 359 total yards—277 passing and 82 rushing—along with two touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown, helping Hatton secure a 42-25 victory over Westminster Christian

 

Week 7: Jaquess Greene, Muscle Shoals: Greene dominated in the first half with three catches for 150 yards and three touchdowns, adding a rushing score, as the Trojans defeated Athens 56-42 on Friday.

 

Week 8: Keaton Williams, Sparkman: Williams sealed the victory for Sparkman by running in the game-winning two-point conversion and throwing the final touchdown, defeating James Clemens 15-14.

 

Week 9: Charleston Owens, Madison Academy: Owens connected on 7 of 8 passes for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns in a dominant 48-7 victory over St. John Paul II.

 

Week 10: Diego Holt, North Jackson: Holt racked up 234 yards and four touchdowns on 37 carries, leading North Jackson to a crucial 28-26 victory over Randolph.

 

Week 11: Josh Williams, Madison Academy: Williams racked up 168 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, leading the Mustangs to a 21-17 victory over Westminster Christian.
