The City of Huntsville has approved plans for a new public dog park on Cabela Drive.
Design Contract Moves Project Forward
City officials approved an engineering design services contract with Mullins, LLC. The agreement covers planning for a two-acre dog park and a small parking area.
The $16,700 contract includes site surveying, fencing, sidewalks, and parking for approximately five to ten vehicles. As a result, the project moves one step closer to construction.
Fifth Dog Park for Huntsville
Once completed, the Cabela Drive location will become Huntsville’s fifth City-operated dog park. Officials say the park will provide a free, safe space for dogs to exercise and socialize.
In addition, the new park will help meet growing demand from dog owners across the community.
What Happens Next
After the design phase wraps up, the City will bid the project for construction. City leaders have not yet announced a construction timeline.
However, officials say the park reflects Huntsville’s ongoing effort to expand recreational amenities and improve quality of life for residents and their pets.
