ToggleMajor upgrades to the concourse connector
The new “concourse connector,” used after TSA screening, includes two elevators, four escalators, and two stairwells. That’s twice as many access points as before, reducing wait times and improving flow to boarding gates.
Faster and safer passenger exits
Arriving passengers now reach the terminal lobby through three exit lanes with breach-control doors. This replaces the older setup where one corridor and a posted guard handled all exits.
More improvements coming in 2025
Airport CEO Butch Roberts said the changes will especially help families and travelers with mobility needs. Robins & Morton led the construction, with funding from FAA grants and the airport’s capital improvement program. More upgrades are on the way, including Starbucks and Interstellar Pizza in May, expanded restrooms in July, and updated retail spaces by September.
