Eco-friendly mural highlights sustainability at MidCity development

A 7,200-square-foot mural now graces the side of Wellory Living in Huntsville’s MidCity District, emphasizing net-zero living and renewable energy.

A Sustainable Art Installation

Florida-based artist Christian Stanley and his wife completed the mural after five weeks of work in rain, wind, and freezing temperatures. The piece celebrates solar, hydro, and thermal energy while incorporating plants to symbolize thoughtful, sustainable living. Stanley explained that the project was selected from several finalists, with a focus on reflecting Wellory Living’s net-zero design.

Bringing Net-Zero Living to Life

Wellory Living is designed to generate as much power as it consumes annually, showcasing renewable energy and environmentally conscious practices. The mural serves as a public reminder of the building’s commitment to sustainability and the MidCity District’s broader efforts to integrate green development with public art.

Artists on a National Mission

Christian Stanley and his wife travel across the U.S., painting murals that combine environmental themes with visual storytelling. They document their work on social media, sharing their creative process and the challenges of large-scale outdoor art. This installation adds a striking visual and eco-conscious element to Huntsville’s growing MidCity community.
