Downtown Huntsville YMCA relocating to Times Building this fall

The Heart of the Valley YMCA is excited to announce that the Downtown Express YMCA will soon relocate to a new home in the heart of Downtown Huntsville.

A New Chapter in a Familiar Neighborhood

Once its current lease ends and renovations are complete, the Downtown Express YMCA will move to the Times Building at 228 Holmes Avenue NE. This relocation allows the Y to remain a central part of downtown while offering a refreshed, upgraded facility to better meet the needs of members and the community.

Upgraded Amenities for a Better Member Experience

The new location will offer 24/7 access, providing greater flexibility for downtown professionals, early risers, and nearby residents. The facility will feature state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, a Child Watch area, an aerobic studio, a functional training zone and stretching area, modern men’s and women’s locker rooms, and relaxing saunas.

These enhancements are designed to improve the overall fitness experience and promote a well-rounded approach to healthy living.

Staying True to the YMCA’s Mission

Bev Capps, Chief Operations Officer, expressed enthusiasm for the move, noting it aligns with the YMCA’s mission to strengthen the community through healthy living. The relocation is expected to be completed in early fall, with minimal disruption to services during the transition.

For more than 115 years, the Heart of the Valley YMCA has been a trusted partner in Huntsville’s growth and well-being, offering programs focused on youth development, wellness, and social responsibility. The Y remains committed to building a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
