Construction has officially begun on The Viola, a new multifamily housing development coming to Huntsville.
Project Overview
The Viola is being built by Doster Construction Company for Lincoln Avenue Communities, with design work by DNA Workshop. The development will include 204 apartment units spread across seven three-story, garden-style residential buildings. Planned floor plans include two-, three-, and four-bedroom units, expanding housing options for families in a rapidly growing area.
Amenities and Community Features
Residents of The Viola will have access to a variety of amenities, including a community clubhouse, fitness room, outdoor swimming pool, playgrounds, a dog washing station, and open green space. Lincoln Avenue Communities, a subsidiary of Lincoln Avenue Capital, focuses on affordable housing for seniors, families, and low-income individuals. According to company information, The Viola represents its first tax credit closing in Alabama.
Timeline and Local Impact
Sitework is beginning this month, with construction expected to wrap up in 2027. The project adds to Doster Construction’s growing portfolio in the Huntsville area, which includes developments such as Constellation, The Dempsey, and Attain at Bradford Creek. City leaders and developers view The Viola as another step toward meeting Huntsville’s increasing demand for thoughtfully designed, high-quality housing.
