According to Colliers International, in a landmark move for Huntsville retail, IKEA has officially signed a lease at University Place Shopping Center. This will be IKEA’s first store in Alabama, and its presence will transform University Place into a regional retail destination.
The Huntsville IKEA will not be a full-size warehouse model (typically 275,000–350,000 sq ft), but a scaled-down 46,000 sq ft concept store — packed with full-room displays, expert planning sessions, and its famous Swedish meatball restaurant.
