A beloved Huntsville restaurant is making its return. Ding How II, which closed after a kitchen fire in spring 2024, is preparing to reopen with the same Chinese favorites locals have enjoyed for decades.
Dim Sum returns to Whitesburg Drive
Fans are especially excited for the return of the restaurant’s popular Dim Sum menu. A new building permit was recently spotted for the location at 4800 Whitesburg Drive #10, and a loyal customer confirmed with the owner that reopening plans are officially underway.
A community favorite for 35 years
Ding How II has been a part of Huntsville’s dining scene for more than three decades. Known for holiday gatherings and family celebrations, the restaurant shared last winter that it was exploring relocation options while repairs were underway.
Reopening date still pending
While the exact reopening date has not yet been announced, the new permit filing signals that the countdown is on for the return of one of Huntsville’s most cherished dining traditions.
