The City of Huntsville and Breeze Airways have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand the airline’s services at Huntsville International Airport. This agreement will increase Breeze’s flight offerings, adding more travel options for residents.

Under the MOU, Breeze will operate at least two weekly flights to Tampa, Orlando, and Las Vegas, totaling six flights per week and 24 per month. In return, the airline will receive a $10,000 monthly base incentive. Additional incentives of up to $10,000 per month are available if Breeze adds two weekly flights to at least two more destinations, including New York (Newark), Los Angeles, and Charleston.
More direct flights for Huntsville travelers
With this agreement, Huntsville International Airport will gain six new direct, non-stop destinations and at least 384 additional flights annually. The initial MOU lasts 24 months, with an option to extend for another year as long as incentive payments do not exceed $360,000 per 12-month period.
A strong partnership for affordable travel
Mayor Tommy Battle praised Breeze’s role in providing low-cost travel since it began operating in Huntsville in 2021. Airport officials noted that Breeze has lowered average fares while offering convenient non-stop service. Airport spokesperson Mary Swanstrom highlighted the airline’s commitment to competitive pricing, reliable service, and avoiding larger hub connections, making travel easier for Huntsville passengers.
