Smalls Sliders has temporarily closed its first Alabama location, but expansion plans remain on track.
Auburn Location Pauses Operations
The burger chain’s restaurant at 1251 Opelika Road in Auburn is currently “temporarily closed,” according to the company. The spot opened in late 2024, though there’s no announced reopening date yet. Owners say the pause is short-term and does not affect the brand’s future in Alabama.
Plans for Statewide Growth
Smalls Sliders previously revealed plans for up to eight locations across Alabama, including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence. The company emphasizes that the Auburn closure will not slow its expansion, keeping Alabama a key market for the growing chain.
A Simple, Beloved Menu
Since opening its first location in 2019, Smalls Sliders has offered burger sliders, fries, shakes, and the signature Biggie Smalls double-meat burger. The straightforward menu and casual vibe have made it a local favorite and the foundation for its expansion across the state.
