Madison County drivers now have a faster way to renew their vehicle registration.
Self-Service Tag Kiosks Launch in Madison County
The Madison County License Department has introduced new self-service kiosks that allow residents to renew vehicle registration without waiting at a service counter.
The kiosks launched Monday, March 9, giving drivers a quicker option for getting updated registration stickers.
Officials say the machines are designed to reduce long lines and simplify the renewal process. Instead of visiting the main office, drivers can complete their renewal in just a few minutes at the kiosk.
How the Kiosk System Works
The process is designed to be simple and efficient. First, drivers scan their vehicle renewal notice at the kiosk. Next, they pay the renewal fee using a debit or credit card. Finally, the machine prints the new registration sticker and receipt immediately.
However, the kiosks are limited to tag renewals only. Drivers who need other services will still need to visit a service counter. Even so, officials expect the new system to reduce wait times for many residents.
Where Drivers Can Find the Kiosks
Currently, the kiosks are located at two district offices in Madison County. The first is the District 1 office at 9457 Moores Mill Road in New Market, Alabama. The second is the District 3 East office at 4299 U.S. 72 in Brownsboro, Alabama.
Both locations operate Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Officials encourage residents to bring their renewal notice to speed up the process and take full advantage of the new self-service option.
