Hundreds of Huntsville Utilities customers could experience temporary power outages next week as crews begin a major infrastructure upgrade project, according to online reports.
Huntsville Utilities Schedules Multi-Day Power Outages
Huntsville Utilities announced planned outages from June 22 through June 26 in portions of northern Madison County. The work will take place east of U.S. Highway 231/431 and north of Winchester Road.
According to utility officials, the upgrades will increase system capacity, improve reliability, and support continued growth in the area. As a result, some customers will temporarily lose power while crews complete the project.
Outages Will Occur Throughout the Week
The scheduled work will begin Monday, June 22, and continue through Friday, June 26. Different neighborhoods and streets will be affected each day.
On June 22, outages are expected between noon and 3 p.m. Meanwhile, outages scheduled from June 23 through June 26 will generally occur between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The utility released a lengthy list of impacted streets, including areas near Moores Mill Road, Joe Quick Road, Steger Road, Tanner Road, Walker Lane, McCollum Road, and several nearby subdivisions.
Customers Will Receive Notifications
Huntsville Utilities said affected customers will receive automated phone notifications before the work begins. In addition, crews will work to complete upgrades as quickly as possible to minimize disruptions.
Officials encourage residents to prepare for temporary outages if they live in the affected area. Furthermore, customers with questions can contact Huntsville Utilities directly for additional information about the project and outage schedule.
On Monday, June 22
Customers on the following streets will be affected:
Broken Branch Drive, Coastal Drive, Gerald Drive, Joe Quick Road, Mill Keys Road, Narrow Lane, Perdido Drive, Spring Tanner Road, Sweetwater Drive, and Tree Bark Trail. Work will begin at noon and be completed by 3:00 pm.
On Tuesday, June 23
Customers on the following streets will be affected:
