A major national retailer is expanding its presence in North Alabama with a new off-price store, according to online reports.
Nordstrom Rack Coming to University Plaza in Huntsville
Nordstrom Rack is set to open a new location in Huntsville at University Plaza near Best Buy and HomeGoods. The store is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
The upcoming location will bring the brand’s off-price retail concept to the area, offering discounted apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty products, and home goods. Customers can expect savings of up to 70% on items from Nordstrom brands and partner labels.
Company materials note that most products are the same brands carried in traditional Nordstrom stores, but sold at reduced prices as part of its outlet-style model.

Nordstrom Rack focuses on providing everyday deals on fashion and lifestyle products. As a result, shoppers will find rotating inventory that includes seasonal styles and frequently updated merchandise.
In addition, the store is designed to give customers a “treasure hunt” shopping experience, where new items arrive regularly. Therefore, selections are expected to change often throughout the year.
