According to online reports, Huntsville artist David Rich has closed his studio at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment after more than 15 years, marking the end of a longtime creative presence at the popular arts destination.
A unique approach to upcycled art
Rich became known for transforming everyday materials into colorful works of art, especially pieces crafted from old license plates. His creative style combined reclaimed materials with imaginative designs, resulting in artwork that stood out for its originality and craftsmanship.
Over the years, his studio attracted visitors looking for handmade gifts, home décor, and one-of-a-kind pieces created from repurposed items.
Continuing online through ReMix Collabz
Although Rich has closed his physical studio, customers can still purchase his creations through his online shop, ReMix Collabz.
The online store features handcrafted items made from reclaimed and vintage materials, including jewelry, hair accessories, framed artwork, aprons, decorative pieces, and other upcycled creations. Additionally, the business focuses on giving discarded materials a second life by transforming them into unique works of art.
Because each item is handmade from repurposed materials, every piece has its own distinct look and character.
Focusing on family
Rich said he decided to close his Lowe Mill studio to spend more time with his family after more than a decade and a half at the Huntsville arts venue.
While his storefront has officially closed, fans of his work can still support his creativity through his online store, where he continues to produce the distinctive upcycled artwork that made him a favorite among Lowe Mill visitors.
