Three Huntsville musicians have been selected to represent the Rocket City during an international songwriter residency in Sweden later this summer.
The opportunity will allow local artists to collaborate with musicians from around the world while showcasing Huntsville’s growing music scene.
Huntsville Artists Selected for Sweden Residency
The Huntsville Music Office announced that Common Man, Jayne Huntsman, and Hugh Lindsey will participate in the TIVEDEN Songwriter Residency, scheduled for Aug. 24–30 in Sandviksbaden, Sweden.
The international program brings together artists, songwriters, and music professionals for a week of collaboration, songwriting, and live performances. In addition, this year’s residency includes new partnerships with the Huntsville Music Office and Iceland Sync, expanding opportunities for cultural and creative exchange.
Local Musicians to Perform at International Festival
Along with taking part in the residency, the three Huntsville artists will represent the city at the Live at Heart Festival in Örebro, Sweden.
During the festival, Huntsville will host the opening celebration, and the selected musicians will perform in a special showcase for international audiences. As a result, they will have the opportunity to connect with artists, industry professionals, and music organizations from across Europe.
Expanding Huntsville’s Global Music Presence
City leaders say the partnership reflects Huntsville’s continued investment in supporting local musicians and building international connections through the arts.
Throughout the residency, participants will take part in songwriting sessions, live performances, networking events, and industry showcases in Sandviksbaden, Örebro, and Stockholm. These experiences are expected to help artists build lasting professional relationships while introducing Huntsville’s music community to new audiences around the world.
