From Sweden to Big Spring Park, Huntsville Music Month is packed with events

Huntsville Music Month returns in September with a larger lineup that highlights local artists, creative partnerships and the city’s growing music scene.

New international showcase highlights Huntsville talent

The 2026 celebration will include a new connection between Huntsville and Sweden. On Sept. 2, Huntsville artists Common Man, Jayne Huntsman and Hugh Lindsey will perform at the Live at Heart Conference & Festival in Örebro.

The Huntsville Music Office will host a dedicated showcase during the festival’s opening night.

Meanwhile, the city will also host Hear to Be Seen 3 at The Orion Amphitheater. The event combines music, photography and storytelling through 28 collaborative works created by local musicians and photographers.

According to online reports, this year’s lineup builds on new findings from the city’s 2026 Music Audit.

Free concerts and major local events

Music fans can find plenty of free events throughout September.

LAUNCHPAD will kick off Sept. 4-5 with two nights of free performances across eight Huntsville venues. The new format will feature local and regional artists from several genres.

Other highlights include:

Concerts on the Dock: Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25 at Lowe Mill

Jazz in the Park: Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at Big Spring Park West

Women in Music Week: Sept. 12-20 at various venues

805 After Five: Sept. 17 at Campus No. 805

CulturA Festival: Sept. 20 at The Orion Amphitheater

Golden Hour at the Garden: Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25

The Music Industry Career Fair & Community Expo will also return Sept. 14 at the Von Braun Center East Hall.

Huntsville heads back to AMERICANAFEST

The Huntsville Music Office will return to AMERICANAFEST in Nashville on Sept. 17-18. The two-day appearance will spotlight North Alabama musicians and the region’s growing music industry.

The lineup includes the third annual Rocket City Ramble and One Big Love, both free events subject to venue capacity.

Additionally, local musicians can submit albums or EPs to BLAST Music throughout September. The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library platform will review submissions and select artists for its streaming service.

Residents can find the complete Huntsville Music Month schedule through the city’s music program and follow along as additional events and details are announced.
